Cream Cheese Banana Bread Recipe

ADVERTISSEMENT

Ingredients:

For the Banana Bread:

1 cup cream cheese, softened
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar, packed
3 large ripe bananas, mashed
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
For the Cream Cheese Swirl:

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
Prepare the Cream Cheese Swirl:

In a bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Set aside.
Make the Banana Bread Batter:

In a large bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy.
Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, mixing well.
Beat in the mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients:

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients:

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix. Fold in the nuts if using.
Layer the Batter:

Pour half of the banana bread batter into the prepared loaf pan. Then, spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the batter. Pour the remaining banana bread batter on top, followed by the remaining cream cheese mixture. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the mixtures together.
Bake:

Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top is browning too quickly, tent it with aluminum foil.
Cool:

Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Enjoy!
Slice and serve your delicious cream cheese banana bread plain, or with a smear of butter. It’s perfect for breakfast, a snack, or dessert! Enjoy!
